    Description

Lysimachia parvifolia is a small-leaved, creeping stem plant producing neat, compact pairs of oval leaves in vivid green. Its restrained growth and fine-textured foliage make it a more delicate-looking alternative to the larger Lysimachia nummularia, offering a similar horizontal spreading habit in a smaller, more refined form suitable for a wider range of aquarium sizes.

It is an undemanding species growing well under medium light without CO2 injection, making it a practical choice for low-tech planted aquariums. The creeping and trailing growth fills gaps in the midground and lower background naturally, creating a soft, textured carpet-like mat over time when planted in groups.

Supplied as an established potted plant, Lysimachia parvifolia suits aquariums from 30 litres upward. Its small leaf size, easy care, and creeping habit make it a versatile plant for both smaller aquariums and larger layouts where a fine-textured horizontal filler plant is needed in the midground to lower background.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

How does Lysimachia parvifolia differ from nummularia?

Parvifolia has noticeably smaller, more delicate-looking leaves than nummularia, giving it a finer texture. The creeping habit is similar but the smaller leaf size makes it suitable for a broader range of aquarium sizes.

    Does it need CO2?

No. It grows well without CO2 injection under medium light, making it a good low-tech planted aquarium option.

Is it easy to care for?

Yes. It is an adaptable, undemanding plant that tolerates a range of water conditions and is suitable for beginners.

How does it grow in the aquarium?

It creeps and trails horizontally, spreading along the substrate and filling gaps. In groups it creates a soft, mat-like spread over time.

    What aquarium size suits it?

Its small leaf size makes it practical for aquariums from 30 litres upward, including nano and medium-sized planted tanks.
