Root tabs

Root tabs put nutrients directly into the substrate where your plants' roots are. Aquatic plants absorb nutrients through their leaves as well, but heavy root feeders prefer to take them up through their roots. You can usually tell which plants these are, because their roots spread throughout the tank.
