This collection is built specifically around the Juwel Rio 180, so you get a sensible number of plants for its footprint without having to work out quantities yourself.
Each collection contains a balanced mix of foreground, midground and background plants, selected from the healthiest suitable stock available when your order is picked. The exact varieties can change, but the planting role and overall balance stay consistent.
Choose your planting level
Essential – 28 plants
For a balanced planted aquarium with room for wood, stone and open swimming space. Choose Essential if you prefer a more open layout or want to allow the planting to fill out naturally over time.
Full – 42 plants
For a denser planted look from the start. Full contains 50% more plants, giving you stronger groups, greater initial coverage and a fuller appearance while the aquarium establishes.

The exact plant varieties may vary with season and stock quality. If a variety is unavailable, it will be replaced with a suitable alternative that performs the same role in the aquascape.
Designed around the Rio 180 footprint
The Rio 180 has a much larger planting area than smaller starter aquariums, so the collection is sized to create proper plant groups rather than scattering individual plants thinly across the tank.
Use taller plants towards the rear, medium-height plants through the middle and shorter plants towards the front, leaving open areas around your chosen hardscape where required.
Essential or Full?
Choose Essential if you want plants to share the layout with wood, rock and open space.
Choose Full if you want plants to have a stronger visual impact from day one.
Before ordering
This product contains live aquarium plants only. Aquarium, substrate, fertiliser, fish, wood, stone and decorations shown in imagery are not included.
Individual plant requirements can vary. Some varieties may benefit from stronger lighting, regular fertilisation or additional CO₂. Plant labels and care information should be checked after delivery so each variety can be given suitable conditions.

Are the exact plants always the same?
No. We select from the healthiest appropriate plants available, while keeping the foreground, midground and background balance consistent.
Why 28 or 42 plants?
The quantities are based on the planting area of the Rio 180 and are designed to give you either a balanced open layout or a denser planted result. Full contains 50% more plants than Essential.
Will I receive a planting plan?
No printed planting plan is included. Plants are supplied with identification so you can position them according to their foreground, midground or background role.
Do I need CO₂?
Not necessarily. The collection is selected for a typical planted aquarium, although additional CO₂ can improve growth for some plants.
Does this include substrate or fertiliser?
No. This collection contains the live plants only.
