    Mixed Boxes are the best way to add lots of plants into your aquarium without the hassle of having to choose the plants - leave it up to the experts!

    Our plant manager will persoanlly pick your plants choosing a range of foreground, midground and background plants. All mixed boxes have a range of colours and sizes so when they arrive with you, it looks beautiful immediately.

    What size should I choose?

    Select the mixed box that is closest to your aquarium taking into consideration any wood or rocks you already have in there. If that's the case, try the next size down.

    Can I request specific plants in a Mixed Box?

    You can't request specific plants but if you'd like more foreground than background for eg, shoot us a message and we'll see what we can do for you.

    Which collection is right for you?

    Essential – 20 plants
    For a balanced layout where plants, wood and rockwork share the attention. Create planted areas around your main features while leaving open space to enjoy the shape of your aquascape. A good choice if you like watching a more lightly planted aquarium develop over time.

    Full – 30 plants
    For a richer planted look with more greenery from the start. With 50% more plants than Essential, you have more to work with when building groups, adding depth and filling out your layout. Choose Full if the lush planted look is what drew you to keeping an aquarium.

    How many plants are included?

    Choose Essential for 20 live aquarium plants or Full for 30. Full includes 10 extra plants — 50% more than Essential — for greater planting coverage.

    Should I choose Essential or Full for my Juwel Rio 125?

    Choose Essential if you want an open layout with planted areas around your wood and rockwork. Choose Full if you want plants to be the main feature, with more greenery and fuller groups from the start. The space taken up by your hardscape will also influence how densely you can plant.

    Will my aquarium look fully grown as soon as I plant it?

    Your layout will develop as the plants settle in and grow. Full gives you more plants to work with at the start, but both options need time and suitable growing conditions to fill out. Leave space between plants for new growth.

    Can I use this collection to refresh an existing Rio 125?

    Yes. You can use the collection for a new layout or to replant an existing Rio 125. Consider how much space your current plants and hardscape already occupy when choosing between 20 and 30 plants.

    How should I arrange the plants?

    Plan your layout around your wood or rocks, keeping open areas where you want to see your fish. Position plants according to their individual growth habits and planting instructions, leaving room for growth. Follow the requirements of each plant rather than planting every variety in the same way.
