Description

Echinodorus harbii 'Rosa' is the pink-flushed form of the harbii Echinodorus cultivar, producing soft leaves with a delicate salmon-pink to rose blush — most pronounced on new growth — before maturing to a greenish tone. The pink flush is subtle and refined rather than vivid, giving this sword a warm, gentle colour accent that complements natural-style aquascapes.

Medium light, no CO2 required, planted in substrate with root tabs. The pink tones are most vivid on fresh new growth under good lighting. Iron-containing fertiliser can help maintain the colouration.

Plant in the midground. Propagation via daughter plants on flower stems.

Not that great. The leaves have brown spots. Doesn't look really great because of that.

The plant arrived in great condition. Unfortunately it was way to big for my tank (probably my fault for not checking the size before ordering). I’ve shared the love and given it to a friend.

Product FAQs

Helpful details before you buy.

Is the pink colour vivid?

Subtle and refined rather than vivid — a soft salmon-pink to rose blush on new growth, not the intense red of rubin or Red Devil. More understated.

Does the pink colour stay?

The flush is most pronounced on new growth and may mature to a greener tone. Good lighting and iron fertiliser help maintain it for longer.

Does it need CO2?

No — grows without CO2. Root tabs and medium light support the best growth and colour.

How large does it get?

Moderate — 20–35cm in most conditions. Good midground plant.

How do I propagate it?

Daughter plants on flower stems — detach once they have 3–4 leaves and visible roots.
