Ludwigia Mini Super Red is a compact, richly coloured Ludwigia cultivar producing small, oval leaves in vivid bright red. Its more restrained size compared to larger red Ludwigia varieties makes it practical for the midground of a wider range of aquarium sizes, while delivering intense red colouration that stands out strongly against green neighbouring plants.
It requires bright light and CO2 injection to maintain the vivid red pigmentation and compact internodes it is known for. Under lower light the colouration diminishes and growth becomes more elongated. Iron-rich fertilisation and a nutritious substrate help sustain the deep red tones on actively developing leaves.

First time i have bought this plant and I am delighted with them..They arrived very healthy in their little baskets and are a lovely colour..Look great in the tank too..Will buy again.
I have always been impressed with both the service and quality of plants and products from this company. Sadly this time around the plant was almost totally rotted and in a very poor way when it arrived. There was very little left to plant, and what was left died back over the next 48hrs. This may have been due to a possibility longer delivery time due to the general delays we are experiencing at the moment.
I am sorry to read this however if plants are delayed in the post they can perish which is why we always recommend Express Delivery.

This is a great plant that adds a splash of colour to the background of my aquarium. Plant arrived well packaged and in good condition despite a night spent in a sub zero Royal Mail sorting depot! So far growing well and maintaining its red colouration in moderate light and no CO2. Bit disappointed that there were only 5 stems in the pot though.
This grew quite fast in my non CO2 tank and has deep dark red leaves.

Yes. CO2 is important for the compact growth and vivid red colouration. Without it the plant tends to grow more loosely and become less red.
Bright light is required. Under medium or low light the red colour diminishes significantly and the plant loses its appeal.
Under bright light and CO2 it stays compact with short internodes, making it suited to the midground of aquariums from 50 litres upward.
Bright light, CO2 injection, and iron-rich fertiliser together produce the most vivid and sustained red colouration. All three are important.
Trim stems and replant the cuttings in the substrate. They root readily and continue growing. Regular trimming keeps the plant compact and encourages new vivid red growth.
