    Description

Originating from Madagascar the Aponogeton ulvaceus Bulb is a beautiful centre piece for your tank. This bulb has bright green vellum-like, heavy crimpled leaves. The older bulbs can grow up to 50 leaves given the right conditions!!!!

This plant grows QUICKLY in the aquarium too under basic conditions. We provide it will very little light and it grows even with little water movement. We've tried it under faster water movement and it loves that too which means this plant is suitable for beginners and up. In terms of positioning, obviously, the background is the only suitable location. Simply drop it into the chosen location and leave it be. It will throw roots down and anchor itself.

There are many varieties of Aponogeton ulvaceus, some of which need a dormant period, when the root does not produce leaves.

Dropped the bulb in the tank as instructed and noted it was upside down. The next day it had somehow righted itself and started to grow roots and leaves! Very impressive!

Amazed, this was the first bulb I had ever tried and it did exactly as promised. Fast growing, tall leaves, no flower yet but looks very healthy and really easy to grow. I use neutro fertiliser and liquid co2.

If you like big, wavy leaf plants you simply must get one of these, but be warned... they really are BIG plants so make sure you have plenty of depth in your tank.

Incredibly quick growing too, watch out for the triffid like flowers! :)

never seen anything like this. I hadn't realised I ordered the bulb only so I was a little bit sceptical at first. Within about 2 weeks this plant is already over 2 foot tall and in excellent health. Will definitely purchase bulbs in the future.

Received the plant without any leaves of course and in just 10 days since I put it in the tank it has 3 leafs out and two more just poking out just ready to start unfolding. This really is a fast grower and looks very delicate. Am really pleased with the quality and growth.

One of only 2 plants purchased that has not done well for me. My Ottos are eating it faster than it can grow. but if not for that it would be a great plant.

This came as a small bulb with 3 very small leaves. In the space of a week it has grown into a large, full and healthy plant with 5 big leaves. It seems to double in size every day or two. I currently add ferts and a small amount of co2. This is the fastest growing and most healthy looking plant I have. I definitely recommend this plant, great for covering up filters or to grow at the back of the tank

Very quick delivery and a healthy bulb.

This was a slow starter for me, so I moved it from my low light tank to my medium light tank, just to give it a bit of a boost and in three weeks it's grown about 45-5cm!

It's a lovely plant and quite robust, despite the fragile looking leafs.

I'm very happy with my purchase and once it's grown on a bit more will move it back to by low light tank and see how it settle in there.

I would recommend this to anyone looking to fill a bare spot in the background of their tank.
