    Description

Ludwigia inclinata Cuba is among the most spectacularly coloured aquarium plants available, producing very fine, narrowly linear leaves in vivid shades of orange, red, and yellow depending on light intensity and CO2 availability. It is a rare and demanding species that represents the pinnacle of the Ludwigia genus in terms of both visual impact and care requirements.

It requires bright light, CO2 injection, and precise nutrient management to maintain the intense colouration and structured growth it is capable of. Without high-tech conditions, growth deteriorates rapidly. Soft, slightly acidic water and an iron and micronutrient-rich fertilisation program are important for sustaining the vivid orange-red pigmentation that makes this plant so striking.

Supplied as an established potted plant, Ludwigia inclinata Cuba is suited to experienced hobbyists with well-maintained CO2-injected aquariums and bright lighting. It is a collector's plant and a centrepiece species in high-end aquascaping layouts where its extraordinary colouration is given the conditions it needs to perform.

Ludwigia inclinata Cuba - Aqua Essentials

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Is Ludwigia inclinata Cuba easy to keep?

No. It is one of the most demanding aquarium plants and requires bright light, CO2, and precise nutrition. It is strictly for experienced hobbyists with high-tech set-ups.

    Does it need CO2?

Yes. CO2 injection is essential. Without it the plant cannot maintain the vivid colouration or compact structure it is known for.

What water conditions does it prefer?

Soft, slightly acidic water with low to moderate KH gives the best results. Hard or alkaline water can inhibit the plant's ability to absorb iron and micronutrients.

    What colours does it display?

Under ideal conditions the fine leaves develop vivid orange-red to yellow-orange tones that are unlike almost any other aquarium plant. The intensity varies with light and CO2 levels.

    Where should I place it?

The background or midground of a high-tech aquarium, where bright light reaches it directly and it is clearly visible. It is a statement plant best placed as a focal point.
