Anubias 'Mini Coin' is a type of Anubias barteri that was discovered at the Tropica aquarium nursery in Denmark. This plant is one of the smallest Anubias varieties, with each leaf being smaller than a little fingernail. It is just as easy to cultivate as its parent plant and prefers not to be exposed to bright light.

The best way to cultivate Anubias 'Mini Coin' is by attaching it to rocks or tree roots in the aquarium. If planted in the substrate, it is essential not to cover the creeping stem or rhizome, as this can cause the plant to decay and perish. When the plant branches out, it forms a dense cushion of small, circular, deep green leaves. If the plant becomes too dense, it can be divided carefully, and the new plants can be placed elsewhere in the aquarium.

Anubias 'Mini Coin' is perfect for use in nano aquariums, but it can also be used to add small details to larger aquariums.

Note - the picture shows a very full cup but the one you receive will be less full. Typically there are 3 small pieces. Don't forget this is a small plant.

Product details

1. Grown in a laboratory

Tissue Cultured Plants are unique in so much as they are grown in a laboratory and not a greenhouse. As a result of this, a cast iron guarantee is offered which is 100% so snails and no pesticides.

2. How to handle them

They're a bit different from potted plants because they're grown in an agae solution that contains nutrients and hormones to encrougage plants to grow. Some agar is liquid, others are more solid depending on what the growers prefers. Regardless once they arrive with you, acclimatise to room temperature and then rinse under luke warm tap water. Then plant up.

3. Pot sizes

Nearly all TC pots are 5cm in diameter and the pots will range in fullness depending on many factors such as the natural growth speed of the plant and the time the grower has held them for. Sometimes the pots are exceptionally full and sometimes not so full - something we cannot control. But either way, they're still really good value when you look at the overall plant mass.

I received four large healthy plantlets in a clean gel culture. I planted three submersed, and one emersed, and they are all doing well
