We get asked this question a lot. So rather than writing a blog post on it, I thought I would make a YouTube clip (my first one!). Anyway, actions speak louder than words so watch the clip below :)
Ordered the 120l aquarium kit for a new setup weβd bought my dad for his retirement and I was blown away by the variety and quality of the items provided.
Everything was in perfect condition on arrival and, despite sourcing the wood locally, everything just worked around it.
My dad is over the moon with how it came out and the aquarium looks like itβs been established for a while already.
Highly recommend and would definitely shop here again
What a wonderful story β thank you so much for sharing this, Craig! Setting up an aquarium as a retirement gift is such a thoughtful idea, and it's brilliant to hear your dad is over the moon with how it came out. It's always great when everything comes together so well, especially when sourcing wood locally. We hope he gets many years of enjoyment from it β and we'd love to see a photo of the finished setup sometime!

Haha :)
No worries.
Maybe I should have read the instructions before getting started.
Iβll keep you updated how the plants are doing.
Joe
The thin roots growing out of your stem plants is normal and youβll be fighting a loosing battle if you take on that challenge. If I were you I would accept it and try not to let it bother you :)
But let me know how you get on with your pots as Iβm sure youβre not the only one who has planted them.
Richard,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Some of the plants have thin roots growing out of their stems which doesnβt look very attractive. Other than that they all look happy and need regular trimming.
I might try to free some of them out of the pots. Letβs see how they are doing.
Cheers,
Joe
Glad you like it Joe :)
As you have already planted them, probably best to leave them. They will throw out roots anyway.
If any plants look like they are struggling, you may need to remove them from their pots, as ultimately that is what they need.
Does this help?
