Hydrocotyle leucocephala, commonly known as Brazilian pennywort, is a fast-growing stem plant from South America with distinctive round to heart-shaped bright-green leaves. Its vigorous climbing habit means stems grow upward, emerge at the surface, and spread across the waterline if left untrimmed — creating lush, natural-looking surface cover as well as a useful background plant when kept submerged.
It is one of the easiest stem plants to keep, growing under medium light without CO2 injection. Its rapid growth rate makes it an effective nutrient absorber, and regular trimming keeps the plant bushy and submerged. Cuttings replanted in the substrate root quickly and continue growing without issue.

I ordered four of these to grow emersed in a floating planter. They arrived in excellent shape, and I quickly replanted them in 9cm baskets. They continue to settle well and I have noticed that within five days one has already begun to flower.

Hi, I have purchased freshwater plants since 2017. I have bought plants primarily from Aqua Essentials. I have in other words; purchased live plants from a couple of alternative suppliers too. Primarily, Aqua Essentials. The quality is outstanding! When compared to alternative suppliers. They CLEARLY don’t keep their plants in aquariums with diseased fish. I know as I have NEVER experienced disease as a result of introducing live plants from Aqua Essentials. I know this for a FACT. After treating my fish for parasitic infections automatically; whether asymptomatic or showing symptoms, then buying plants from Aqua Essentials, my fish have continued to be healthy! This is SOOoow important. I urge any new fish keeper to read-up on disease in fish. Aqua Essentials are VERY good suppliers of plants. The likelihood of disease brought in from their plants is less than 5%. Diseases come from retailers selling fish that are untreated and basically FULL of disease. Purchase from this company with confidence. I have, and for nearly 5 years now x. All the best to you all; new and old fish keepers!

Great plant for hiding things as you can take cuttings and they all ready have roots . The cuttings can be put into your gravel and you can make a very thick plant . I highly recommend you buy off Aqua Essentials . Delivery was very Fast.
