    Tolerates Scottish soft water.

One of the few plants that can survive Scottish soft water. Would recommend for Scottish aquarists who are fed up buying plants that melt within a short period of time.

Plant received was tiny and didn't survive.

Plant received was absolutely tiny and sadly didn't grow at all. I wasn't expecting a huge plant but it was really small for the price paid.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

What makes Hygrophila siamensis 53B different from standard siamensis?

It develops many side shoots and narrower leaves than regular Siamensis. It becomes bushy quickly and needs regular trimming.

    Does it need CO2?

CO2 injection is not essential. It is an undemanding plant that can grow in lower light; provide regular nutrients as it develops.

Is it easy to care for?

Yes. It is easy to grow, but its active growth needs regular trimming to keep the group tidy.

What layout styles suit it best?

It is particularly popular in Dutch aquarium style plantings and nature aquarium layouts where a neat, compact stem plant is required.

    How do I propagate it?

Cut healthy stem tops and replant them in the substrate. They root readily, while the remaining stems produce side shoots.
