Aponogeton ulvaceus is one of the easier and more prolific Aponogeton species, producing large, broad lime-green to pale green leaves with an attractive wave-edged surface and a translucent quality in light that gives the plant a luminous, ethereal appearance. It is a fast-growing species that can produce impressive results relatively quickly from a dormant bulb and can become one of the most dominant background plants in a large aquarium.
It grows in low light without CO2 injection and is tolerant of a range of water conditions — one of the more accessible Aponogeton species. Like all Aponogeton it goes through natural dormancy cycles when the leaves die back and the bulb rests before regrowing. Dormancy in this species is often shorter than in more demanding varieties.
Supplied as a dormant bulb. Plant in substrate leaving the top third of the bulb above the surface. It typically grows relatively quickly after coming out of dormancy and can become a very large plant — best suited to aquariums of 100 litres and above as a background centrepiece.

Had two of these bulbs delivered with no leaves (as described) within 3 days it had sprouted and now they are monstrous with giant flowering arms. As usual, my order was received on time, well packaged, and in great condition. The plant itself, when received, was not much to look at, just a bulb with no leaves. but now, after a couple of weeks in my tank has grown two healthy leaves growing vigorously along with evidence of two new leave about to sprout. I am more than pleased with my purchase and will buy more.

Leaves are growing nicely
Ordered 2 bulbs and both had some small leaves starting out. I can see just a week later that they are growing but i think my fish like the taste of the leaves. Hopefully when it gets settled it will outgrow the fishes interest.
