Echinodorus compacta is a compact Echinodorus cultivar that delivers the characteristic sword plant form in a noticeably smaller package — broad, upright green leaves but on a plant that stays much shorter than full-sized swords like bleheri or argentinensis. It's well suited to midground placement in most aquariums or as a background plant in smaller tanks.
Medium light, no CO2 required, planted in substrate with root tabs near the roots. The compact form means less leaf mass to support, making it a slightly more forgiving feeder than the large-leaved species. Growth is reliable and steady.
Plant in the midground substrate. Propagation via daughter plants on flower stems.
