Eleocharis acicularis is a popular and widely kept foreground grass plant producing very fine, needle-like stems in bright green that grow upright to form a dense, natural grass lawn in the foreground of planted aquariums. A classic aquascaping species used extensively in natural aquascape styles where a fine-textured, low-growing green carpet is desired.
It benefits from medium light and CO2 supplementation for the densest, most carpet-like coverage with the shortest internodes. Without CO2 the stems grow taller and less compact but the plant still establishes and spreads. It spreads via runners to gradually fill the foreground over weeks and months.
Supplied as a Tropica 1-2-GROW! tissue culture cup, this plant arrives completely free from snails, pest algae, and pesticide residue. Rinse the gel and plant small clusters into the substrate. Suits aquariums from 30 litres upward — a classic aquascape foreground grass that arrives clean, pest-free, and ready to plant in shrimp tanks and planted aquariums.
