While I empathise with the other person who reviewed the 3 hole coconut and had received a pretty poor condition nut. I on the other had received an exceptionally healthy hunk of moss on mine.
I already had a 1 hole coconut and coconut arch in my tank, as well as well as some moss scaper pads. My shrimp much prefer the species of moss attached to the 3 hole coconut over the other kind of moss attached to the other coconuts.
The moss on my 3 hole is very vibrant, healthy green. It came fully intact and all green, stuck to the coconut.
My red crystal shrimp are in love. The adults and babies graze upon the moss as it is good at catching detritus from the water column. They keep the moss clean and this allows it grow more.
The shrimp don't spend much time inside the coconut, just on the moss. My corydoras catfish however, absolutely love all of the coconuts and use them as a safe refuge to rest for a short while.
