    Description

Anubias on driftwood is one of our most popular ready-made aquascaping pieces — and it's easy to see why. Each one arrives with live Anubias already secured to a piece of natural driftwood, so it goes straight into your tank with zero preparation.

Anubias is a slow-growing plant native to West Africa. It thrives in low light and needs no CO2 supplementation, making it ideal for beginners and low-tech setups alike. The broad, dark green leaves provide excellent cover for shrimp, dwarf cichlids, and any fish that appreciate shelter. The driftwood itself adds natural structure and releases beneficial tannins into the water.

Each piece is individually selected and will vary in shape and size. Wood measures approximately 12–20cm.

    Plant Sizes

The image of the plant you'll be receiving is just an example of what you can expect. Each plant is unique and may vary in size and shape, so it won't be an exact match to the photo. If we provide a size guide, keep in mind that it's just an estimate and that plants can vary in size depending on the time of year.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Do I need to plant Anubias in the substrate?

No — the rhizome is already attached to the driftwood. Just place the piece in your tank. Never bury the rhizome as this causes rot.

How much light does Anubias need?

Anubias is one of the most shade-tolerant plants in the hobby. Standard aquarium lighting is more than sufficient — no specialist lighting needed.

Does Anubias on driftwood need CO2?

No CO2 supplementation is required. Anubias does well in a simple low-tech setup with no additives.

    Is Anubias safe for shrimp?

Yes, fully shrimp-safe. Shrimp love grazing on the biofilm that forms on the broad leaves, and the driftwood provides excellent shelter.

    How fast does Anubias grow?

Anubias is a slow grower, typically producing one or two new leaves per month. This means very little trimming — it keeps its shape naturally.
