Description
Microsorum pteropus, universally known as Java fern, is one of the most popular and enduring aquarium plants. This XL version comes pre-established on a large piece of floating driftwood, creating a substantial surface planting feature that sits at the waterline and trails roots down into the water below. The XL size makes a bold statement in larger aquariums where a significant surface feature adds a natural overhead canopy effect.
Java fern is one of the easiest aquarium plants available. It grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection and is tolerant of a wide range of water conditions, temperatures, and tank inhabitants — including most cichlids that would destroy other plants. Growth is slow but the plant is very long-lived and requires very little ongoing attention.
No anchoring or substrate planting is needed — the driftwood floats naturally at the surface. The piece can be held in position under a rock or piece of hardscape, or left to drift freely. The XL size is suited to aquariums of 150 litres and above where its scale can be fully appreciated.

Really amazing I brought the xl it has suction cups so it sticks onto the back wall looks great with all the benefits of a live plant

Love this, it’s absolutely huge!!! My fish love it. However it had two suction cups but both on one end of the wood, and because it’s such a big piece of wood, the end with no suckers just slides down. It’s very annoying. Now trying to think of something to add to hold it up. Fab otherwise and impressed by the size. Just wish the suckers were on either end .
