Description

Anubias congensis is a more upright-growing Anubias from the Congo Basin, producing long lance-shaped leaves on an erect rhizome. It grows taller than the compact nana varieties but shorter than hastifolia, making it a useful choice for midground to background placement in medium and larger aquariums.

Like all Anubias, it's genuinely undemanding: no CO2, tolerant of a wide range of light levels and water conditions, and attached to hardscape rather than planted into substrate. The dark green leaves are tough and rarely attract algae or fish damage. Growth is slow but steady.

Remove from the pot and fix the rhizome to wood or rock with thread or aquarium-safe superglue. Never bury the rhizome.
