Description
Cryptocoryne undulatus 'Kasselman' is a classic and well-regarded variant of the green undulatus Cryptocoryne, named after the aquatic plant specialist Christel Kasselmann. It produces wavy, textured medium green leaves with a slightly more pronounced surface texture than the standard green form — a reliable and attractive midground Crypt that improves with age.
Low light, no CO2, planted in substrate. Root tabs support good establishment. Like all Crypts, temporary leaf melt can follow being moved — leave the rhizome in the substrate and it will regrow. Once established it spreads reliably via runners.
Plant roots in the substrate without burying the crown. Midground positioning in most aquariums.

Customers praised this aquarium plant for its quality and healthy appearance, noting "beautiful healthy plant, packaged extremely well." Most report minimal leaf loss and strong growth in low-light, non-CO2 tanks. Each pot contains 4-9 individual plants. However, one customer experienced complete plant death with all leaves falling off within two weeks.
- Beautiful healthy plant, packaged extremely well, always these plants are so good!
- Quick delivery of beautiful plants. 4 to 9 plants in each pot, very generous portions.
- Brilliant in my low light non-CO2 tank. Very little melt, lots of new growth appearing.

Quick delivery of some beautiful plants. Well packed, no damage to the plants. 4 to 9 plants in each pot, very generous portions and very good quality. In aquarium for 7 days with only a few leaves lost. Thank you!
Plants arrived quickly and were in superb condition . Settled in very quickly and look really healthy after only a few days. I am delighted with them !!
Purchased five plants two weeks ago .
The leaves have all fallen off ,so waste of money .
All five plants gave now died.
Not a easy plant to keep .
Product was correct however alot of the leaves were melted, I have bought from here previously and the plants are normally very good quality so I'm sure this was a one off
Lovely plant. Can't wait to see how much it grows!!
Incredible little plant, I've always avoided crypts in the past, worrying about melt etc, but these have been brilliant in my low light non-CO2 tank. Very little melt, lots of new growth appearing from the substrate. I did use a couple of root tabs beneath these to assist with the roots taking hold, and they all appear to be flourishing! I was able to get 5-6 individual plants from each pot.
arrived as promised, well packaged in great condition
A good plant to provide dense leaves in a small space
These plants are amongst the best available, this review applies to all the plants I purchased, (too many to write separately), I shall be back for more soon, excellent quality.
what can I say other than 5 star again. My thanks R M Toon

Really grat looking plant
Excellent packaging and a very healthy plant.
Good value for money.
Product FAQs
Helpful details before you buy.
What is 'crypt melt'?
When moved, Cryptocoryne sometimes dissolve their leaves. This is normal. Leave the rhizome in the substrate and new leaves will regrow.
How does Kasselman differ from standard undulatus Green?
The Kasselman form typically has a slightly more pronounced surface texture on the leaves. Both are reliable and attractive — Kasselman is the classic named form.
Does it need CO2?
No — grows without CO2. Root tabs or a nutrient-rich substrate are more important.
What size does it reach?
Typically 15–25cm — midground positioning in most aquariums.
How do I plant it?
Plant roots in the substrate without burying the crown. It spreads via runners over time.
