Does it need CO2?
No — Echinodorus grows well without CO2. Root tabs near the roots are far more important than CO2 supplementation.
How do I fertilise it?
Use root tabs placed near the base of the plant. Echinodorus are heavy root feeders — substrate nutrition is more effective than liquid fertiliser.
How large does it get?
A large species — the broad leaves can reach 30–50cm depending on conditions. Background positioning in most aquariums.
How do I propagate it?
Daughter plants form on flower stems above the waterline. Detach once they have 3–4 leaves and visible roots, then replant.
Where should I position it?
Background in most aquariums — the broad, wide leaves need space to display properly.
