Description
Echinodorus gabrielii is a lesser-known Echinodorus cultivar with graceful, gently arching leaves in a mid-green tone. The arching growth habit gives it a more relaxed, natural appearance than the strictly upright swords, and makes it effective as a midground plant where the arching leaves add movement and depth to the layout.
Medium light, no CO2 required, planted in substrate with root tabs. Growth is reliable and the plant is undemanding. A good addition for aquascapers looking to vary leaf form among their Echinodorus plantings.
Plant in the midground. Propagation via daughter plants on flower stems once the plant is well established.

Product FAQs
Helpful details before you buy.
What makes gabrielii distinctive?
The graceful, arching leaves give it a softer, more naturalistic appearance than the strictly upright swords. The arch adds movement to the layout.
Does it need CO2?
No — grows without CO2. Root tabs near the roots support the best growth.
How large does it get?
Moderate — 20–35cm in most conditions. Well suited to midground positioning.
How do I fertilise it?
Root tabs near the roots. Echinodorus are heavy root feeders.
How do I propagate it?
Daughter plants on flower stems — detach once they have 3–4 leaves and visible roots.
