Description
Echinodorus spectra is a distinctive cultivar named for its multi-toned leaf colouration, with leaves shifting through a spectrum of red, bronze, and green as they develop. The combination of colours present at any one time within the rosette gives the plant a lively, dynamic appearance that changes subtly as new leaves emerge and older ones mature.
Like most Echinodorus, it is undemanding in care, growing under medium light without CO2 injection. Root fertilisation is important — a nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs placed near the base every few months will support healthy growth and keep the transitions between leaf tones vivid and well defined.
