Eriocaulon cinereum is a delicate, rare aquatic grass from Southeast Asia producing a compact rosette of fine, hair-like leaves with an intricate star-shaped form. It is a collector's plant, sought after by experienced aquascapers for the unique fine texture and soft, naturalistic quality it brings to high-tech planted layouts.
It is a demanding species requiring consistently bright light and CO2 injection. Soft, slightly acidic water is preferred, and the plant is sensitive to nutrient imbalances and unstable conditions. It is not suited to low-tech aquariums and is best kept by hobbyists with experience in high-tech planted systems.
