    Description

    Hygrophila guanensis is an easy-to-keep stem plant with oval to lance-shaped mid-green leaves, similar in habit to Hygrophila corymbosa but with slightly different leaf proportions and a moderately compact growth pattern. It is a reliable background plant for hobbyists looking for Hygrophila variety beyond the most commonly available forms.

    Like most Hygrophila, it grows under medium light without CO2 injection and tolerates a wide range of water conditions. Regular trimming keeps it bushy and prevents it from reaching the surface too quickly.     As always some excellent healthy plants. I particularly like that they are shipped with the basket so you are able to remove this and the rockwool to trim the roots before planting. When you buy elsewhere and they are sent without the basket to save on postage you often find the roots have been damaged which would be ok if they were put straight in the aquarium but not when they then spend a day or two in the post.

    Good quality plants as usual. I am a big fan of hygrophilas as some I bought from AE have lasted years with regular pruning. They seem to be very happy in my fairly hard water and these are no exception.

    This is a beautiful and bushy plant with bright green leaves. A welcome addition to the tank and very decorative. We do have to be very specific where we plant them however, because if they're in the wrong place , the yoyo coaches dig them up!
