    Description

Juncus repens is a compact aquatic grass-like plant from North America, producing fine, narrow leaves that create soft, natural texture in the midground of planted aquariums. Unlike many grasses used in aquascaping, its leaves adapt well to fully submerged conditions, and its manageable size and growth habit make it suited to a wide range of aquarium sizes and styles.

It is easy to maintain, growing under medium light without CO2 injection. A nutrient-rich substrate supports the root system and encourages steady growth. Under higher light conditions, the plant can develop warm reddish or pinkish-brown tones on the stems and leaves, adding subtle colour to the otherwise green midground.

Supplied as an established potted plant, Juncus repens suits aquariums from 40 litres upward. Its fine, grass-like texture contrasts naturally with broad-leafed plants and adds a soft, meadow-like quality to planted layouts. Dividing and replanting separated stems helps fill in a planting group over time.

Very good plant which grows with no problems except it tangles itself up quite a bit. Pruning sorts this out and it looks its best after taking the scissors to it.
