Description
Schismatoglottis prietoi is an attractive and somewhat unusual aquarium plant from the Philippines producing broad, oval to heart-shaped leaves in deep green with occasional subtle patterning, resembling Cryptocoryne in appearance and growing habit. It is a low-growing rosette plant well suited to the midground of planted aquariums where it provides a bold, lush leaf form at a moderate height.
It is an easy, tolerant plant that grows well in low light without CO2 injection, sharing many of the low-maintenance qualities of Cryptocoryne species. It adapts to a broad range of water conditions and is a reliable choice for low-tech planted aquariums. Growth is slow to moderate, and the plant is long-lived and stable once established without the transplant stress of more sensitive species.
Supplied as an established potted plant, Schismatoglottis prietoi suits aquariums from 40 litres upward. Hmmm. Expected more of this and whether on wood or in substrate it's just been fodder for the fish to rip apart for fun.

I received the strongest, healthiest plants possible. They are stunning, as others have said like a crypt/anubias look, growing in a dense deep green clump. If I had to complain, the root system was so strong that removing the rock wool took an eternity! I hope they do well, but that's over to me...

As usual, these plants arrived with others I purchased in good condition. They are looking good at the front of the aquarium, and look decorative with their crinkly style leaves.
