What makes the Narrow form different from standard Java fern?
The leaves are significantly more slender and elongated than the standard form, giving a finer, more graceful appearance. Care requirements are identical.
How do I attach it to wood or rock?
Do not bury the rhizome in the substrate. Attach it using fishing line, cotton thread, or aquarium-safe superglue and the roots will grip naturally over time.
Does it need CO2?
No. Java fern Narrow grows without CO2 in low to medium light and is one of the most undemanding aquarium plants available.
Can I mix it with other Java fern forms?
Yes. Mixing Narrow with standard, Windelov, and other forms on the same piece of driftwood creates interesting textural contrast and is a popular aquascaping technique.
How does it propagate?
Plantlets grow naturally on older leaves and eventually detach and anchor themselves to nearby surfaces. No action from the hobbyist is required.
