Choose your pot size
- Standard (5cm pot)
- XL (9cm pot)
Both options are the same plant. XL is a larger supplied specimen. Pot diameter is not plant height; living plants vary naturally. One selected potted plant is included.
Echinodorus ozelot Green is a striking hybrid sword plant distinguished by its bold dark spotting across bright green, oval leaves. The contrasting pattern gives each leaf a mottled, almost leopard-like appearance that stands out clearly against both pale substrates and darker planted backgrounds.
It is easy to keep, requiring only medium light and no CO2 injection to perform well. Like all Echinodorus, it is a root feeder and responds well to a nutrient-rich substrate or the addition of root tabs placed near the base of the plant.
Supplied as an established potted plant, Echinodorus ozelot Green typically reaches 20–35 cm in height, making it ideal for the midground of aquariums from 100 litres upward. Its distinctive spotted leaves make it a popular focal-point plant in nature aquarium and community planted layouts alike.
XL size and care notes
Echinodorus ozelot green is a popular hybrid sword plant with distinctive dark spotting on its olive to mid-green leaves. The spots vary in size and distribution from plant to plant, giving each individual a slightly unique character. The green form has a naturalistic, understated appearance compared to its red counterpart, integrating well in planted layouts that rely on texture and form rather than heavy colour contrast.
It is an easy and adaptable plant. It grows well in medium light and does not strictly require CO2 injection, though supplementation promotes fuller growth and more pronounced leaf patterning. Like all Echinodorus it is a heavy root feeder and benefits from nutrient-rich substrate or regular root tabs. Tropical water parameters suit it well.
The XL version supplies a larger, more established specimen with a broader rosette and better-developed root system, giving more visual presence from planting day. Suited to midground and background positions in aquariums from 80 litres upward. Remove from the pot, clean the roots, and plant with the crown at substrate level without burying the growing point.
