Description

The Coconut Arch is a natural coconut shell shaped into an arched bridge structure with live Java moss growing across its surface. It creates a distinctive organic-looking feature that functions as both a visual element and a practical shelter for fish and shrimp. The natural material and living moss combine to produce an appearance that integrates naturally into planted aquariums of all styles.

Java moss is one of the most low-maintenance aquarium plants available. It grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection and tolerates a wide range of water conditions. The moss will slowly spread and increase its coverage over the coconut surface over time. Shrimp are particularly attracted to moss — they graze on it constantly and use it for shelter and breeding.

The moss is pre-established on the coconut arch so no further attachment is needed — simply rinse and place in the tank. Fish and shrimp will readily use the arch as a shelter and swimming route. The coconut may release some natural tannins initially, which is harmless and settles over time. Suitable for aquariums of 20 litres and above.

Plant Sizes

The image of the plant you'll be receiving is just an example of what you can expect. Each plant is unique and may vary in size and shape, so it won't be an exact match to the photo. If we provide a size guide, keep in mind that it's just an estimate and that plants can vary in size depending on the time of year.

Product FAQs

Helpful details before you buy.

Will fish and shrimp use the arch?

Yes — small fish and shrimp use the arch as a shelter, territory, and swimming route. It is particularly popular as a hiding spot for shy fish and breeding shrimp.

Does the moss need CO2?

No — Java moss grows under standard aquarium lighting without CO2 injection.

Will the coconut discolour the water?

Natural coconut may release some tannins initially, giving the water a light amber tint. This is harmless and settles with water changes.

Will the moss spread further over time?

Yes — the moss will slowly increase its coverage over the coconut surface. Trim with scissors to keep the shape defined.

Is it safe for shrimp?

Yes — one of the best features for a shrimp tank. The combination of moss and natural coconut shelter is highly attractive to shrimp.
