    Description

Nomaphila stricta, also known as Hygrophila corymbosa or giant hygrophila, is a large, vigorous aquarium plant producing pairs of broad, lance-shaped leaves in bright green. It is one of the most reliable and forgiving background stem plants available, growing strongly under a wide range of conditions and providing a bold, lush backdrop in larger planted aquariums.

It is an easy plant that grows well under low to medium light without CO2 injection, tolerating a broad range of water conditions including moderate hardness. Fast-growing and responsive to trimming, it quickly fills background positions and is simple to propagate — cuttings root readily in the substrate within a few days of planting.

Supplied as an established potted plant, Nomaphila stricta suits aquariums from 80 litres upward due to its eventual size. Its bold leaf form, easy care, and fast reliable growth make it a classic background choice for both beginner planted aquariums and established low-tech set-ups that need a substantial and dependable green background plant.

Arrived in Isle of Man the day after ordering. Very well packed. Excellent quality. 8.5" tall and 5 stems per pot, meant tit could be split into 2 plants. Not as dense/many stems as Hygro Siamensis 53B ordered at the same time, but still a nice plant.
