Mixed Boxes are the best way to add lots of plants into your aquarium without the hassle of having to choose the plants - leave it up to the experts!
Our plant manager will persoanlly pick your plants choosing a range of foreground, midground and background plants. All mixed boxes have a range of colours and sizes so when they arrive with you, it looks beautiful immediately.
What size should I choose?
Select the mixed box that is closest to your aquarium taking into consideration any wood or rocks you already have in there. If that's the case, try the next size down.
Can I request specific plants in a Mixed Box?
You can't request specific plants but if you'd like more foreground than background for eg, shoot us a message and we'll see what we can do for you.
Description
Tissue cultured plants are grown in a laboratory, free from pesticides, snails and algae. The plants themselves are younger and smaller than potted equivalents, but the pots are packed full with excellent root structure. Their real advantage is purity — grown in sealed sterile cups, they arrive with no pesticide residue, making them the only plants we guarantee 100% shrimp safe.
Each selection may include a variety of brands and consists of foreground, midground and background plants. Some plants may repeat, some won't — the mix is entirely random. It's the easiest way to buy plants, and it's what we're known for. If you need a specific species, order that separately.

Before planting, if there's any gel, wash it off under a tap, then split the plant into 6-8 pieces.

Do tissue culture plants grow faster than potted plants?
No — there's no evidence they grow faster. Tissue culture plants are younger and more delicate than potted plants, which are hardened to greenhouse life and physically much larger. The real benefit of tissue culture is purity: pesticide, snail and algae free, and the only plants we guarantee 100% shrimp safe.
How do I prepare tissue culture plants before planting?
Rinse the gel off under a tap first, then gently split the plant mass into 6-8 smaller pieces before planting each one into your substrate.
How many pots do I need for my tank size?
As a guide: 5 pots for 35L, 10 for 70L, 15 for 100L, 20 for 150L, 25 for 200L, 30 for 250L, 40 for 300L, and 50 for 350L and above.
