Description

Bucephalandra theia 'Green' is the standard green form of the popular theia variety, producing slightly wavy dark green leaves with the characteristic iridescent sheen of the genus. The green form has a clean, classic appearance that works well alongside almost any other aquarium plant, offering the Buce's distinctive shimmer and texture without the colour statement of the red or other coloured varieties.

Like all Buce: low light, attach to hardscape, slow growing, no CO2 essential. Shrimp are active on the leaf surface. A reliable and attractive epiphyte for any aquascape.

Attach the rhizome to wood or rock with thread or aquarium-safe superglue. Do not bury the rhizome.

Product FAQs

Helpful details before you buy.

How does theia Green differ from standard Bucephalandra theia?

It is the green form of the theia variety — the same slightly wavy leaves and iridescent sheen without the red colouration seen in theia Red.

Does it need CO2?

No — grows without CO2, though supplementation improves growth rate and the leaf sheen.

How do I plant it?

Attach the rhizome to wood or rock with thread or aquarium-safe superglue. Do not bury the rhizome.

Is it shrimp-safe?

Yes — all Bucephalandra are excellent with shrimp.

How fast does it grow?

Slowly — typical of all Buce. Very low maintenance once established.
