Our plant manager will persoanlly pick your plants choosing a range of foreground, midground and background plants. All mixed boxes have a range of colours and sizes so when they arrive with you, it looks beautiful immediately.
What size should I choose?
Select the mixed box that is closest to your aquarium taking into consideration any wood or rocks you already have in there. If that's the case, try the next size down.
Can I request specific plants in a Mixed Box?
You can't request specific plants but if you'd like more foreground than background for eg, shoot us a message and we'll see what we can do for you.
Description
This box brings together five of our best-selling aquarium plants in one simple package. Every plant in it has earned its place through genuine customer demand — these are the five plants UK fishkeepers buy from us again and again.
What's in the box
- Microsorum pteropus (Java Fern) — the classic hardy midground plant. Attaches to wood or rock, thrives in low light, shrimp-safe.
- Anubias nana — compact, slow-growing and famously tough. Ideal on hardscape or in the foreground.
- Hygrophila polysperma — one of the easiest stem plants in the hobby. Fast-growing background greenery.
- Salvinia natans (Water Spangles) — an easy floating plant that shades the tank and helps keep algae in check.
- Alternanthera reineckii Pink — the colour piece. Vivid pink-purple leaves that stand out against the greens. Colours up best with decent lighting.
Care
Four of the five are happy in a standard low-tech aquarium without CO2. The Alternanthera appreciates brighter lighting to show its best colour, but is rated easy-growing. Care information is included with your order.
What you receive
Four potted plants (5cm nursery pots) plus one portion of Salvinia natans. If a plant is temporarily unavailable, we'll substitute another easy-growing best seller of similar suitability.

Picked fresh from our Devon facility. Order before 4pm Monday to Friday for same-day dispatch. Live plants are shipped in recyclable packaging.

Is this aquarium plant box suitable for beginners?
Yes, this box is designed to be beginner-friendly. Most of the plants are hardy, easy to grow and suitable for standard low-tech aquariums without CO2 injection.
Do these aquarium plants need CO2?
CO2 is not required for this plant box. Four of the five plants grow well in low-tech aquariums. Alternanthera reineckii Pink will show its best colour under brighter lighting, but it is still classed as an easy-growing plant.
How are the plants supplied?
You will receive four potted aquarium plants in 5cm nursery pots plus one portion of Salvinia natans, which is supplied as a floating plant.
Are these plants shrimp safe?
Yes, the plants in this box are suitable for shrimp aquariums when prepared and planted correctly. Always rinse plants before adding them to your aquarium.
