Like all Java fern varieties, it grows attached to wood or rock rather than being planted in the substrate, making it a versatile and distinctive plant for creating a natural, hardscape-integrated look in planted aquariums.
It grows well in low to medium light without CO2 injection, tolerating a wide range of water conditions. The rhizome must remain exposed and not buried — attach it to hardscape using thread, fishing line, or aquarium-safe glue and the roots will anchor naturally over time. It is slow to moderate in growth rate and requires minimal maintenance once established.
