    Description

Add natural moss detail to your aquarium with Java Moss Scapers Pads, supplied pre-grown on a fine mesh base. Choose Small for precise accents and tight spaces, or Medium for a longer strip of coverage alongside rocks and wood.

    Choose your pad size

    • Small: approximately 4.5 x 4.5cm, a compact square pad.
    • Medium: approximately 9 x 4.5cm, a rectangular pad with twice the mesh area of Small.

Each option supplies one moss-covered mesh pad. Moss coverage and colour vary naturally between pads. The dimensions refer to the mesh base, not the height or spread of the growing moss.

    Easy moss placement

Gently rinse in dechlorinated water, then position the pad where you want the moss to grow. Keep the moss exposed to light rather than burying it under the substrate. Use one pad as an accent or arrange several together for a wider planted area.

    Simple care

Java moss is suitable for lower-light aquariums and does not require injected CO2. Trim as needed to keep the shape tidy and gently remove trapped debris during routine maintenance. Its fine branching growth provides cover and grazing surfaces in shrimp aquariums.

    Information about growing mosses:

    1. Slow growing

Mosses are well known for being relaltively easy to grow. Due to the fact they are slow growing, it means demands are low. This means less light, less fertilisers and less care.

    2. Not too much light please

Because all mosses are slow growing, you can't force them to grow quicker. So brighter light and loads of CO2 won't turbo charge them - actually you'll just end up stressing them out. Whilst some will always grow faster than others, mosses take time to get to the stage you want them to be. Patience.

    3. Trimming is beneficial

Like all plants, mosses need trimming with a shaprt pair of scissors so don't hold back. Avoid them getting leggy, trim them to keep their shape and they will reward you with better growth which is a deeper green and dense.

Customers praised the pad's rapid growth, with one noting it "doubled in height within a week." The moss attaches easily to rocks and wood, creating natural aesthetics for tanks. While most reviews are positive about quality and fast service, some noted the moss was thinner than pictured and size smaller than expected.

    • A week later, and they are twice the height!! I didn't expect them to grow THAT well!
    • Easy to attach to my bog wood, the moss started growing immediately and is spreading wonderfully.
    • Very pleased with this moss as it gives an instant carpet look.

    Impressive Little Things

I bought these to help establish some moss in my tank for the shrimp and aesthetics, this stuff has come on leaps and bounds since been placed in the tank and appears to be out growing the Tropica moss purchased from another supplier, so I am very happy!

The moss on these is a lot thinner than the picture shows and the nylon thread holding it on had exposed loops which were unsafe for my fish.

Great way to get the moss started in the tank. I cut the pad into smaller pieces and placed them on wood and rocks. After a month I have large bushes off moss that the fish and shrimp low to hide in.
