This mini lava rock piece combines Cryptocoryne with aquarium moss, creating a compact planted feature that can be placed anywhere in the aquarium without substrate planting. The Cryptocoryne provides broad, coloured leaves while the moss fills in around it with a soft, dense texture — together they create a layered, natural appearance in a ready-made format.
Cryptocoryne is one of the most tolerant and adaptable plant genera available. It grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection and handles a wide range of water conditions. The moss is equally easy. Like all crypts it may experience brief leaf melt after being moved to a new tank — this is normal and the plant regrows from the root within a few weeks.
The plants are pre-established on the lava rock so no further attachment is needed — simply rinse and place in the aquarium. The lava rock sinks immediately and can be moved or repositioned at any time. The mini size suits aquariums of 20 litres and above and is particularly effective in shrimp tanks and nano set-ups.
