    Description

Anubias barteri nana is one of the most popular aquarium plants, with compact, dark green oval leaves growing from a creeping rhizome. This version comes pre-attached to a piece of natural driftwood designed to float at the water surface, providing the plant with strong surface light while adding an unusual overhead planting element not often seen in home aquariums. It creates a natural canopy effect from above.

Anubias is one of the easiest aquarium plants available. It grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection and tolerates a broad range of water conditions and temperatures. Growth is slow but the plant is extremely long-lived and requires virtually no maintenance once it has settled in.

No anchoring or substrate planting is required — simply drop the floating piece into the tank. It can drift freely or be positioned under a piece of hardscape to hold it in place. Particularly effective in tanks with surface-feeding fish or where unusual planting positions add visual interest. Fully shrimp-safe and suitable for tropical and temperate set-ups.

The image of the plant you'll be receiving is just an example of what you can expect. Each plant is unique and may vary in size and shape, so it won't be an exact match to the photo. If we provide a size guide, keep in mind that it's just an estimate and that plants can vary in size depending on the time of year.

Customers praised this floating Anubias on driftwood for adding "dimension" to aquariums. The plant arrives healthy, with many noting it "exceeded expectations" and fish, especially Bettas, love resting on it. The strong suction cup allows flexible placement. Some flowered quickly. One customer reported a sucker issue requiring a power drill fix. Note: wood may yellow water initially.

    • Blown away by the quality - my Betta instantly felt more happy

    • Absolutely stunning and it was already flowering!

    Exceeded all expectations!

Having been disappointed with the quality of online purchases elsewhere, I was prepared for a let down when I ordered this, but have been blown away by the quality of this floating driftwood with Anubias plant on it. Within seconds of adding it to the tank my Betta had claimed it, instantly feeling more happy. I am hoping my other plants will now be left alone - Prior to this we had a plastic ‘nest’ which she was pulling up plants and threading them through!
Now deciding what other tank improvements we can get from Aqua Essentials - just excellent quality.

    Anubias on bogwood with sucker

Very pleased with my purchase of the Anubias on bogwood with sucker nice healthy specimen, I've recently upgraded a 105 ltr Biorb with Biohome filter media and got rid of the atrocious biorb light unit which I have adapted the lid with clear acrylic and installed a full spectrum light unit, because you cant plant into the filter on the Biorb using plants on bogwood that can be suckered to orb wall are a godsend and make the orb look really good so good I've had columbian tetras breed so highly recommend the plants on bogwood for any body with an orb

Plant looks healthy, its a nice size and the wood looks great.
However, mine arrived with the screw sticking out so that the sucker wouldn't work making it not actually viable as the object to add height and shade to the tank that I bought it for. When I emailed to find a solution, I was told that I needed a power drill to screw it in more or to buy a smaller screw. Very disappointed.

    Review

Bought this via eBay but from Aqua Essentials.. I am always "cautious" when ordering things like this as product pictures are one thing and what you receive is always slightly different. But when I received this I was so surprised, it is almost identical to the picture.. I was so pleasantly taken aback that something I ordered looked like what had been advertised.

I have this on the side of the tank to help block the view of the filter and also near where my shrimp tend to hang out. My shrimp absolutely love it and my school of corydoras love taking it in turns to explore it.

I loved it so much i ordered directly from the website and so far everything i have ordered from Aqua Essentials has been nothing short of perfect health and quality. Am so glad I have found a reliable aquatic plant supplier but also at affordable prices! And for £2 more than standard delivery I can choose DPD who we have a reliable relationship with and leave our parcels in our safe place so we don't have to trudge out to a depot to collect. Cannot recommend AE highly enough, you will not regret buying from here.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Will it stay at the surface?

Yes — the driftwood is buoyant and designed to float. It stays at the surface naturally without any weighting or anchoring.

Can I fix it in a position?

Yes — tuck it under a rock or piece of hardscape to hold it in place, or leave it to float freely. It can be repositioned at any time.

    Does it need CO2?

No — Anubias nana grows without CO2 in low to medium light.

Is it good for fish that like the surface?

Yes — it provides shelter and interest at the surface for fish that inhabit the upper part of the tank, and the trailing roots can interest curious fish.

    Is it safe for shrimp?

Yes, fully shrimp-safe. Shrimp will graze on the Anubias leaf surfaces and on the trailing roots.
