Description

Anubias barteri var. nana is a compact and visually appealing plant, ideal for a variety of conditions. Native to Cameroon, it typically grows to a height of 5–10 cm, with its rhizome extending 10–15 cm or more. This plant has a slow growth rate, with durable leaves that last for years, providing a surface for slow-growing algae to thrive.

For best results:

  • Attach it to a stone or piece of driftwood using fishing line or thread until it secures itself.
  • If planting in substrate, ensure the rhizome remains uncovered to prevent rotting.

This plant flowers frequently underwater and is resistant to herbivorous fish, making it a low-maintenance, long-lasting addition to any aquarium. And finally, this plant isn't noticeably large at all - it simply gets its name due to the leaf size being 'larger' than the regular Anubias bateri.
