    Description

Anubias barteri nana is a compact, hardy aquarium plant with small oval dark green leaves growing from a creeping rhizome. This version comes pre-attached to a small piece of spiderwood — a pale, intricately branching wood with a distinctive angular, tangled structure that contrasts beautifully with the deep green of the Anubias leaves. Together they create an immediately ready aquascape feature with a natural, organic appearance.

Anubias nana needs very little to thrive. It grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection and tolerates a wide range of water parameters and temperatures. Growth is slow but the plant is long-lived and largely self-maintaining, requiring no trimming and minimal ongoing attention once it has settled.

The plant is pre-grown onto the spiderwood so no further attachment is needed — simply rinse and place. Spiderwood is a medium-density wood that may need a brief soak to submerge fully. Each piece varies naturally in shape and branching structure, making every product individual. Sized for aquariums from 30 litres upward.

    Plant Sizes

The image of the plant you'll be receiving is just an example of what you can expect. Each plant is unique and may vary in size and shape, so it won't be an exact match to the photo. If we provide a size guide, keep in mind that it's just an estimate and that plants can vary in size depending on the time of year.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Will the spiderwood sink straight away?

Spiderwood may need a brief soak of a few days to submerge fully. You can weight it temporarily or soak it in a bucket before placing it in the tank.

    Does it need CO2?

No — Anubias nana grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection.

Will the Anubias spread along the wood?

Yes — the rhizome will continue growing and spreading along the spiderwood over time, gradually increasing its coverage.

    Is each piece unique?

Yes — spiderwood has a natural, irregular branching structure and each piece varies in shape and character. The product you receive will resemble but not exactly match the listing image.

Is it safe for shrimp and small fish?

Yes, fully. The branching spiderwood provides excellent shelter and hiding places, and shrimp enjoy grazing on the Anubias leaves and the wood surface.
