Bolbitus On Mini Lava Rock with Moss

This mini lava rock piece combines Bolbitis heudelotii (African water fern) and aquarium moss, creating a compact planted feature with two complementary plant types on a single piece of natural volcanic rock. The semi-transparent, deeply lobed leaves of Bolbitis contrast with the soft, dense texture of moss to produce an attractive and detailed effect that looks well-established from the moment it is placed in the tank.

Bolbitis benefits from good water flow — position it near a filter outlet for the healthiest growth — and grows in low light without CO2 injection. The moss is even easier, growing in standard conditions without supplementation. Both are slow-growing, long-lived plants that are very low-maintenance once settled on the lava rock.

Both plants are pre-established on the lava rock so no further attachment is needed — simply rinse and place in the aquarium. Position it where it will receive some water movement for the best Bolbitis results. The lava rock is heavy and sinks immediately. Suited to aquariums of 20 litres and above.
