How small does Cryptocoryne petchii stay?
C. petchii is one of the smaller crypt species, typically reaching 10–15 cm in height. Its compact form makes it well suited to midground positions in smaller aquariums.
Does it need CO2?
No — like most Cryptocoryne it grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection.
Will it melt when I put it in the tank?
Crypt melt is common when plants are moved to a new tank — old leaves die back but the roots stay healthy and regrowth follows within a few weeks.
Do I need to plant it in substrate?
No — the plant is pre-established on lava rock. Just rinse and place it wherever you want in the aquarium.
Is it suitable for shrimp tanks?
Yes, fully shrimp-safe. Shrimp will graze on the biofilm that forms on the leaves and the lava rock provides additional shelter.
