Microsorum Windelov and Anubias Duet

This combination piece pairs Microsorum pteropus Windelov — the elegant lace Java fern with finely divided, crinkled leaf tips — with Anubias nana on a single piece of natural wood. The two plants complement each other beautifully: the delicate, ruffled texture of Windelov contrasts with the smooth, broad simplicity of Anubias nana to create a richer planted effect than either would produce alone.

Both plants are among the easiest in the hobby. Windelov has the same care requirements as standard Java fern — low to medium light, no CO2, tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Anubias nana is equally low-maintenance. Neither requires substrate planting, fertilisation, or specialist lighting, making this an ideal feature piece for low-tech aquariums.

Both plants are pre-established on the wood so no further attachment or planting is needed — simply rinse and place in the aquarium. Never bury the Anubias rhizome. The piece works effectively in aquariums of 40 litres and above and can be used as a standalone midground feature or alongside other planted wood pieces in a larger layout.
