Description

Microsorum pteropus Windelov, also known as Lace Java fern, comes pre-attached to a single piece of natural wood. Its finely divided, ruffled leaf tips add delicate texture to your aquascape.

Choose Small or Large. Every piece is natural, so wood shape, dimensions and plant coverage vary. Images show examples of the selected size.

Easy to care for in low to medium light, without CO2 injection. Simply rinse and place in your aquarium. Keep the rhizome above the substrate rather than burying it. Growth is slow, with little ongoing maintenance needed.

Product FAQs

Helpful details before you buy.

What makes Windelov different from standard Java fern?

Windelov has finely divided, ruffled leaf tips that give each frond a lace-like texture. It is more ornamental than the standard form with exactly the same care requirements.

Does it need CO2?

No — it grows in low to medium light without CO2, making it ideal for low-tech nano tanks.

Do I need to attach it when it arrives?

No — the rhizome is pre-attached to the wood. Just rinse and place.

Is it safe for shrimp?

Yes, fully. Shrimp graze on the leaf surfaces and the wood provides shelter and additional biofilm.

Which sizes are available?

Choose Small or Large. Each piece of wood is natural, so dimensions, shape and plant coverage vary.
