Mixed Boxes are the best way to add lots of plants into your aquarium without the hassle of having to choose the plants - leave it up to the experts!
Our plant manager will persoanlly pick your plants choosing a range of foreground, midground and background plants. All mixed boxes have a range of colours and sizes so when they arrive with you, it looks beautiful immediately.
What size should I choose?
Select the mixed box that is closest to your aquarium taking into consideration any wood or rocks you already have in there. If that's the case, try the next size down.
Can I request specific plants in a Mixed Box?
You can't request specific plants but if you'd like more foreground than background for eg, shoot us a message and we'll see what we can do for you.

A South American biotope-style aquascape favours broad-leaved swords for structure, softer stem and fine-leaved plants for natural contrast, and a looser, less formal layout than a Dutch-style tank — closer to how plants actually grow along slow-moving South American rivers and streams.
A few things to keep in mind when planning your layout:
- Broad-leaved swords work well as background structure
- Fine-leaved and stem plants add natural contrast in the mid and foreground
- Keep the layout open rather than dense — this style isn't about filling every gap
- Pairs well with driftwood roots and a sand or fine gravel substrate for an authentic look
Each box includes a mix of background, midground and foreground plants suited to this style. As with all our mixed boxes, the exact plants vary week to week depending on what's freshest in stock, so no two boxes are quite the same.
Sizes run from 50L (12 pots) up to 500L (120 pots), so there's a box matched to your tank. Every plant is packed fresh from our UK facility and arrives ready to plant.

Most plants can grow without CO2, but adding CO2 can improve growth and enhance colours. These plants perform well in both low-tech and high-tech setups.
