Hygrophila lancea Araguaia is a distinguished and elegant Hygrophila variety from the Araguaia river in Brazil producing slender, narrow leaves in deep green on upright stems — a more refined and subtle stem plant compared to larger-leaved Hygrophila species. Its narrow, graceful leaf form and manageable size make it a versatile choice for mid to background planting in a range of planted aquarium styles.
It benefits from medium light and CO2 supplementation for compact, structured growth and the richest green colouration. Without CO2 it can be maintained but tends to grow more loosely. It is a well-behaved stem plant that does not overgrow rapidly and is generally easier to keep in a tidy, maintained form than many fast-growing Hygrophila species.
Supplied as a Tropica 1-2-GROW! tissue culture cup, this plant arrives completely free from snails, pest algae, and pesticide residue. Rinse the gel, separate stems and plant into the substrate. Suits aquariums from 40 litres upward — an elegant, refined background stem plant that is fully shrimp safe and well suited to detailed planted aquariums.
