Description

Hygrophila difformis, often known as Water Wisteria, is a fast growing and highly adaptable stem plant that suits both beginner and experienced aquascapers. Supplied as a Tropica 1-2-GROW! tissue culture, it is grown in a controlled environment and arrives free from pests, algae, and snails, making it ideal for fresh setups or shrimp safe aquariums.

In the aquarium it produces finely divided, bright green leaves that add texture and movement to the scape. It grows quickly under moderate light and responds very well to trimming, becoming bushier and more compact over time. CO₂ and regular nutrients will boost growth and leaf quality, but even without them it remains a reliable and forgiving plant for mid to background planting.

Plant Sizes

The image of the plant you'll be receiving is just an example of what you can expect. Each plant is unique and may vary in size and shape, so it won't be an exact match to the photo. If we provide a size guide, keep in mind that it's just an estimate and that plants can vary in size depending on the time of year.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Tissue cultured plants are supplied young and grown in a sterile environment, so they arrive free from snails, algae and pesticide residue. They may look smaller on arrival, but each cup contains multiple plantlets designed to be divided and planted out, where they establish quickly with minimal melt and grow into place.

About Tissue Culture Aquarium Plants

1. Clean, Fresh & Pest-Free

Tissue culture aquarium plants are grown in clean, sterile laboratory conditions, making them a fresh and reliable choice for planted aquariums. They arrive in sealed cups and are free from snails, algae and pesticide residue.

2. Easy to Prepare

Before adding them to your aquarium, remove the plant from the cup and gently rinse away the gel under lukewarm water. The plant can then be divided into smaller portions, giving you more flexibility when placing it around your tank.

3. Young Plants, Strong Start

Tissue culture plants are young when supplied, so they may look smaller at first, but they settle in well when given suitable light, nutrients and stable water conditions. Plant or attach them according to the needs of the specific variety.
