Anubias barteri is a robust, broad-leaved aquarium plant with glossy dark green leaves growing from a creeping rhizome. This version comes pre-attached to a piece of natural bogwood, creating an instant planted feature that needs only to be placed in the aquarium. Bogwood is a classic aquarium material that darkens the water with natural tannins benefiting many soft-water fish species and shrimp.
Anubias is one of the easiest aquarium plants available. It grows in low to medium light without CO2 injection and tolerates a wide range of water parameters and temperatures. Growth is slow but the plant is very long-lived — once settled onto the bogwood it continues spreading and requires virtually no ongoing attention.
The rhizome is pre-grown onto the bogwood so no further attachment or planting is needed. Simply rinse and place in your aquarium. The bogwood may release some tannins initially, temporarily tinting the water amber — this is entirely natural and harmless. The Anubias continues growing steadily along the wood over time, gradually increasing its coverage.
