Amazon frogbit (Limnobium laevigatum) is a fast-growing floating plant from South America. The round, buoyant leaves sit on the surface while long feathery roots trail down into the water below — providing excellent cover for fry, shrimp, and small fish looking for shelter.
It grows quickly in good light and readily absorbs excess nutrients from the water column, naturally helping to control algae. The leaf size varies from 2–8cm depending on conditions and time of year. In a well-lit tank it will multiply rapidly via runners, so occasional thinning is needed if you have light-demanding plants lower in the aquarium.
Keep surface flow gentle — Amazon frogbit doesn't tolerate water splashing onto the leaves. This listing is for a portion of plants supplied in a small pot.
