    Description

Cryptocoryne Lucky Dip gives you one individual Cryptocoryne plant selected by us from our current stock. The species is our choice — you might receive wendtii, beckettii, affinis, parva, or any other Crypt we have available at the time of packing. If you buy multiple quantities you may receive the same species more than once, or a mix of different ones.

The appeal is the price: lucky dip plants are available below the equivalent named variety. All Cryptocoryne share the same basic care requirements regardless of species — planted in substrate, low light, no CO2 required — and all can experience temporary crypt melt when first moved. Leave the rhizome in place if this happens and it will regrow.

A good option if you want to add Cryptocoryne variety to a layout without committing to specific species, or if you're building a diverse Crypt collection on a budget.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Which Cryptocoryne species will I receive?

It varies — that's the point. You'll receive one Crypt from our current stock; it could be any species we have available at time of packing.

    What is 'crypt melt'?

When moved, Cryptocoryne sometimes dissolve their leaves. This is normal. Leave the rhizome in place and new leaves will regrow.

    Does it need CO2?

No — all Cryptocoryne grow without CO2. Nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs are more beneficial.

Can I request a specific species?

Unfortunately not — the selection is random. If you need a specific Crypt, browse our individually listed varieties.

    Is it good value?

Yes — lucky dip plants are priced below the equivalent named variety. Great if you're not fussy about which species you receive.
